We have requests for unique pieces all the time and that is no problem. This adorable snail carries dried flowers in its shell. Do you have an idea of something you want us to try?

When will I receive my order, What is the turn around time?
In general this process can take several weeks to several months (Yes MONTHS) to get back
(based on how busy we are and what is being ordered 1 small piece or 6 large pieces)
More Pieces = More Time
Wedding Season, and Holidays = More Orders
So there may be several people in front of you in line for their pieces. Before we even start yours.
Why does it take so long?
> Flowers take time to dry (3 days- 1 Week) sometimes once dry need to be re-assembled, designed, flattened etc.
> Resin takes time to cure (72 Hrs between each layer) this slower process means less bubbles and a higher quality piece.
We take great care in preparing your flowers. To help maintain their shape and color. Pieces are done in small batches, and need time to cure in between each layer because we use QUALITY resin to ensure the best quality piece.
>Humidity can cause resin to not cure/dry properly (sometimes we have to wait it out- Wisconsin summers are very humid making the resin process even harder)
Might there be other reasons?
Yes, Sometimes pieces break, overflow or don't work and have to be re-made. On some occasions we even have to run tests to make sure a piece is going to work before we try it with your one of a kind flowers.
The time of year can also make a difference- There are certain times of year that are busier and/or slower for us with business, vacations and other family actives or holidays etc.
We both have full-time jobs and a family. So we do not devote every day to our creative endeavors. We still love you and we hope you still love us and know that we are devoted to your projects and are always happy to give an update. Even if its just to let you know your 2nd or 3rd in line right now versus 10th in line. If your worried just ask! If you need your piece for a specific date let us know we will do our best to accommodate it as long as it doesn't jeopardize the timeline for the pieces in front of yours.
When should I drop off my flowers?
We can take flowers at ANY time even naturally dried years later.
BUT for fresh flowers to maintain their shape and color the sooner the better.
Where do I drop off my flowers?
Usually at our home, or at our store. (Port Washington/Cedarburg)
Its best to set up a date and time. So we can let you know where we will be.
What to Expect from Your Preserved Flowers
We take great care to preserve your flowers, but there are some natural effects of the resin process you should know about:
Every piece is unique, and these characteristics are part of the charm of working with real flowers and resin. No two will be exactly the same.
Handmade Notice and a little behind the scenes
These items are handmade—not manufactured.
Online videos and TikToks can make resin look fast and easy, but looks can be deceiving. Resin is unforgiving, even for experienced hands. Here’s a peek behind the scenes on the process:
Choosing the resin:
Why do we not use UV resin when it cures instantly and we can get orders out faster without any cure time? Yes thats true and we have tried it in the past its beautiful in the moment. But yellows quickly and can become brittle over time. Which we would never want for such sentimental pieces. So we use boat resin— harder to work with as it gives us a shorter working time, about 15–30 minutes after that its un-usable. That means every placement has to be pre-planned and precise, almost like a race against the clock. Touch too much, and flowers shift or bubbles form. But it maintains it color longer, has much better strength and maintainability. It also takes longer to cure so less bubbles. So carefully layer by layer we pour and pray and pour and pray!
The final layer and de-molding: This is the most stressful part. Will it cure perfectly? Will a flower shift will there be overflow, are there air bubbles on the sides? This is when we hold our breathe! (yep resin just does what it wants. After many years of experimenting, reading, watching and testing. I have not gotten it to listen to me.) Its always going to be a risk. We have limited flowers and limited control once a piece enters the curing chamber (a pressure sealed container) it comes out a few days later and there we are left with whatever the resin has decided to do during its cure time. So now what? Well if there are no issues, I breathe a sigh of relief and package up your order. But that's not always the case.
What do we do when issues arise: like overflow? We do the best we can! What can we do? Not the end of the world and the simplest fix is to cut this piece off and sometimes sand just a little bit of the piece so the edge isn't rough. leaving a small dimple or matte portion on the edge, and leave it. It will still look amazing! (and remember I only get 1 chance unless there are extra flowers and I remake it from the beginning with again no guarantee on the turn out). This is the best method because I can see and control how it looks.
Now can I fix that matte edge? yes and no! More decisions to be made. There are 2 ways to do that a pour over (which can leave drops/ pour spots uneven surfaces on the piece because now we are no longer working in a mold and resin does what it wants.) Or polishing (which rarely works, in our experience).
and my last option Do I re make the item? Perfection isn’t guaranteed—resin doesn’t play fair. I can try to fix them, but as stated earlier these are part of resin working trying to fix it might make it worse. I only have so much I can do, So here is the deal I do MY VERY best to give the very best!
I put my whole heart into my resin work.
So, why don't you see resin makers on every corner... well you know what they say "if it was easy everyone would be doing it." Resin is challenging to work with and when things dont come out the way you wanted. You want to start drop kicking that fax machine like its 1999 (iykyk) challenging. We are just humans carefully crafting each piece of flower art with our heart on sleeve. Wanting to give you the best piece possible. Even with experience, things are not always perfect —it’s part of the handmade process. We appreciate your understanding that each piece is unique, and that’s part of its charm. <3
